Fall is finally here! One of my favorite things about Fall aside from the weather, the changing colors of the leaves, and the fashion, is the Fall decor!
I love getting to style up our entryway for the Fall season especially because it’s a season where we invite our family and loved ones over to gather, laugh, and share joy. The entrance is a wonderful way to welcome them.
Also, we can’t forget about those traditional family photos on the front porch. What’s a Thanksgiving family picture without some pumpkins and Fall décor, right?
There’s so much you can do with Fall décor on your entryway, from layering to textures, to colors, and scents. Fall lets you decorate to your heart’s desire. 💕
So, if you need some inspiration, we came up with some easy tips to spice up the entrance to your home!
1. Don’t be afraid to layer
Be intentional where you display your décor. Layering your pieces helps enhance your look and creates a nice flow.
✨ This can be really fun if you have stairs leading up to your front door, it’s a great opportunity to stack some decor pieces along the railing. But even without stairs, you can still incorporate layering by playing around with different heights of pumpkins, plants, and other pieces and layer them on top or around each other.
✨ Another idea is layering doormats! Bring depth and contrast to your entrance by layering two different kinds of mats on one another. You can get creative with it by mixing and matching unique prints and textures.
Here are a few examples

In this photo, we can see that @ablissfulnest layers her flowers and pumpkins alongside each other and also layers her doormats to fill out more space while still giving different elements of texture and pattern that we love!

Here @joyfullygrowingblog does a beautiful job placing her Fall decorations that gives off a staircase effect that flows to the doorway. You can also see that she incorporates a haystack at the top to give the lanterns more height.
2. Continue your story inside

When you decorate your home, you want to look at it as if you were telling a story. Just like interior designer Nate Berkus says “Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.” Establishing a flow that you love lets you create purpose in your space and allows it to get to its greatest potential!
✨Stay consistent by choosing pieces that complement each other and your style. Also, don’t forget to add some elements that give you that touch of Fall.
✨ Staying in the same color palette will also help tie the look together. When choosing your colors also keep in mind what style you are going for. For example, our style is fresh and airy so we like looking at light and neutral colors.

For a more modern look, you can take inspiration from this lovely design by Crate and Barrel. As it shows in this picture, they brought in some darker tones with the black vases and lanterns but still included little hints of Fall by placing some small pumpkins along the side.
For those of you that love a Fall farmhouse look, we got you covered! We included pieces that pull right from the autumn color palette. The burnt orange, dark greens, and hints of reds all tie in together to give you that cozy Fall look.

3. Be inviting
Your entrance is the first thing you and your loved ones see when they come over, so you want to be sure your entrance gives a warm and inviting welcome every time you step into your home
✨ Keep an open space. When you place everything together make sure nothing is going to be in the way or too intrusive for you or your guests. It’s easy for things to get too cluttered when you have a lot going on everywhere so it can be beneficial to keep things clean and open.
✨Bringing in a Fall aroma is a great way to welcome anyone especially for the Fall season where you have all these warm and cozy scents. A cinnamon broom can be a wonderful addition to the entryway to bring in that Fall scent.

Here we have a beautiful farmhouse Fall look by @littlehouseon100 She has a lovely open space that invites you right in and if you wanted to make it feel even more Fall you can add a cinnamon broom tucked in a basket or behind some flowers to bring in that wonderful cinnamon smell.
