The holidays are just right around the corner so it’s about that time to take to start hanging up the decorations, bringing in the Christmas tree, and putting out the nice dinner set for the family and friend gatherings. This is the season to let your home come alive with lights and laughter and we are here to help your holiday vision become a reality! 🌟
We are going to be sharing with you all some styling tips and different holiday looks to help you feel inspired!
Mantels
Mantels are a great way to display your holiday decorations. It also emphasizes the focal point of your space letting your eyes naturally gravitate towards it while giving a warm holiday feel.
✨Find your style! If you are going for a more rustic look add elements like pinecones, lights, and burlap. For a modern/minimal approach, layering with wooden beads is becoming a trend and adding tall candles adds in some height while still letting the garland keep the minimal look.
✨Play around with the heights and shapes of your holiday pieces sometimes it helps to visualize a triangle because this shape naturally pleases the eye when displaying decor.
Let’s look at some examples

Here we have two lovely examples of how garlands can bring the holidays to life in a space! On the left, we have a divine look put together by @hellocentralavenue and I just love how they chose to place their garland asymmetrical but still balanced it all out by incorporating some elegantly tall candles on the other end of the mantel.
For some antique inspiration, on the right, we have this look from @sarahjaneinteriors. This looks shows you that a little can go a long way by how all these beautiful details come together. I love the layering of the antique frames that brings depth on top of the mantel.
Christmas Trees
Real or fake, big or small Christmas trees come in all shapes and styles and everyone has their own unique way to decorate it. I always get so thrilled to take out the tree this time of year and what I love most about it is all the memories you can make by putting it all together with friends and family. Because styling a tree can be so specific to one’s personal taste I’m going to be giving some general tips that can be applied to almost any style.
✨ Before you start decorating make sure to fluff and shape all the branches. This will keep it from showing any gaps and make it easier to style. To add more volume, you can pick up individual tree branches and add them to the tree.
✨ When hanging ornaments start with the basics and zig-zag them around the tree. Another tip is to keep the heavier ones towards the lower half of the tree and the smaller ones on the top to keep the look balanced. Next, if you have any unique and individual ornaments go in with those by filling the gaps and make sure they are being shown off.
✨ To complete to look off I like to add some empty gift boxes under the tree and layer them all together.
Here are examples of different styles

For my minimal/modern lovers out there! I love a good minimal holiday look especially if you aren’t working with as much space and don’t want all the decor to take up so much room. @themerrythought really inspired me here by placing their tree in a basket I thought this gave such a homey and cozy vibe and I chose to do the same with my tree and I love how it turned out!

This rustic styled tree makes you feel like your waking up on Christmas morning! This look was put together by @lizmarieblog and I love how she played with the different shades of whites and creams to make this winter wonderland. You can see how she made the style of the tree flow with the rest of her space that gives the ultimate cottage feel.

I love how @advicefroma20something brought the boho vibes on this one! The throw pillows, rugs, and wooden beads perfectly tie the look together. I also love the color palette she chose to use here because it all blends very well and you can see the subtle hints of red and green for those classic holiday colors.
Dining Tables
Holiday dinner gatherings are a very special part of the holidays! When it comes to setting a table it’s all about creating a welcoming environment that invites your family to gather around and be with one another.
✨Garlands are a great way to spice up your space any time of the year but they are undoubtedly special for the holidays! I especially like to use garlands as a centerpiece across the dining table to help draw the eye’s attention to the center and create a purposeful flow.
✨Layering with table runners and placemats adds an element of texture and also helps break up the colors allowing for contrast
Some examples

On the right, @designandevents put together a thanksgiving centerpiece that is so delicate and elegant. Eucalyptus is my favorite plant and I love how she used it here by adding very soft elements like the flowers, berries, and the light and airy table runner.
@lifebyleanna on the left displayed her beautiful centerpiece by bringing in soft colored pumpkins which perfectly contrasts against the dark-colored wood of the table.
